The FEI is a growing movement, that is being co-created by peasants, farmers, gardeners, scientists, students, activists, NGOs and agroecological companies – working together towards a sustainable, healthy, viable food system that is fair and just for the earth, the consumer and the producer.

Together, we co-organize a 3 ECTS international summer course at the Wageningen University (Netherlands) every year, which intends to bring together theoretical knowledge from students with practical skills and knowledge from farmers. Are you interested in growing your own food, discovering local knowledge and practices on organic farms in the Netherlands? Do you want to learn about agroecology, food sovereignty and sustainable food systems? Or would you like to interact and discuss with farmers to find creative, innovative ways of farming? Join the FEI!

Are you having the idea that milk comes from a factory and tomatoes grow underground? No worries, everyone can join – because you will be prepared during the first week, full of lectures, workshops, debates and excursions!

The FEI 2019 will start on the 22nd of July and take 4 weeks, till the 16th of August. The first one and a half week are filled with lectures, workshops, excursions and debates. The two weeks after that, students gain practical skills in a short farm internship on an (organic) sustainable farm in the Netherlands. The last days are reserved for reflection and linking the theory of the first week with the practical experience on the farms.
