Harvesting logs for mushrooms

Are you, after the cold winter, craving a day of working out in the forest? Then join us to this oak forest where we will harvest some logs. Trees have recently been cut down as part of the forest management, and now we will harvest them to inoculate them with shitake production.

There is space for two groups on Saturday 19th of February, so you can choose whether you want to join in the morning or in the afternoon.
Morning: we leave at 8:30 and will harvest logs from 10:00 – 13:00, after which we will have lunch together.

Afternoon: we leave at 12:00, join the other group for lunch at 13:00 and harvest logs from 13:30 – 16:30.

We meet in front of Radix on the WUR campus. For the transport, we ask 6 euros per person.

Soup will be provided during lunch, but please bring other lunch items!

In March or April we will organize a workshop where you can learn how to inoculate the tree logs.
And if you’re interested in having your own inoculated log (if you have a good space for it), let us know!
