Boerengroep goes WWOOFing this summer! We have selected interesting gardens and farms in the Netherlands for you for a nice week in the summer together!
You can sign up alone or with a friend and choose a farm of your preference from the list below. Send an email to st.boerengroep@wur.nl before July 1st. Don’t wait too long, because the number of places is limited.

What is WWOOF?
WWOOF is a cultural exchange at a sustainable farm or garden, in which the sharing of life and culture are central. In order to truly experience the life of a farmer or gardener, you live and eat together with your host and you share knowledge and skills.
You can go WWOOFing in almost every country in the world; and – yes – also in the Netherlands : ) Did you know that we have 45 WWOOF farms and gardens in the Netherlands?!
How does Boerengroep WWOOF work?
1. Have a look at our website to see which farm/garden you’d like to go to. (note: we… will update this page soon!)
2. you sign up for the WWOOF week: send a mail to st.boerengroep@wur.nl and mention your preference (if you have)
3. we meet all together for a coffee and you meet the group of 2-8 people who are going to the same garden or farm. We exchange contact info and one person of the group contacts the farmer
4. It’s time for WWOOFing! : ) Enjoy the real life on a farm or garden in the Netherlands, work along, learn, share. The host will provide you food and accommodation.
5. Optional: you can write a short story about your experiences, add some pictures to it and send it to boerengroep. We’ll post it at the website and we’ll publish your story at Toekomst Boeren (Future Farmers) site!
Moreover, if you like the concept of WWOOFing, you can chose to become a member to support the WWOOF foundation and get full access to all farms! You can subscribe for WWOOF Netherlands, or find a WWOOF organization in another country where you’d like to work on farms.

FARMS PARTICIPATING IN THE WWOOF WEEK 7-12 JULY
BioRomeo Krispijn van den Dries
Krispijn has a biodynamic arable farm and he is part time manager at a care farm called “GroeijZaam”. Besides different kinds of potatoes, Krispijn also has many different colourful vegetables and “forgotten vegetables” – traditional Dutch varieties which were common in the past but are not grown that often any more. Krispijn is a famous farmer in the Netherlands, since his demonstration in Amsterdam as member of the Youth Food Movement (see picture).
There is a bedroom available for 2 volunteers, more people can sleep in their own tents. The farm is located in Ens, close to Emmeloord.

In Het Volle Leven
The name of this organic garden means “the full life”. The farmer grows around 60 kinds of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. It is a self-harvest CSA, which means that people have an annual subscription and they come to this garden and harvest the products themselves. The farm doesn’t provide only healthy food but also this experience and the relaxation in nature. Volunteers can help with weeding, harvesting and other garden works.
There is room for two WWOOFers and there might be other helpers at the same time. Accommodation will be provided either in a caravan or in the farmer’s house not far from the garden.
The farm is located in Vortum-Mullem, about 60 km South-East from Wageningen.
Schapenstreek
The volunteers working on this organic sheep farm will help with milking and making cheese and ice cream. Schapenstreek is also a care farm and it has its own shop.
The farm can host 4-5 people who will sleep in rooms for 2. It is located in Lutjebroek, 130 km North-West from Wageningen.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Food and accommodation is provided at the farm in exchange for your work. Participants arrange their own transport to the farm.
